PLEASE NOTE - New
Computer System:
In September 2011, Northlands replaced the computer system
used to process all patient data.
If you were registered to use Internet Access before September 2011,
your method of logging in to the Internet Access system has changed. Your User Name on the new system is your old Access ID Number
followed by your old Practice ID Number, separated by an
underscore, which is usually shift and hyphen, found above P on the
keyboard. So if your Access ID Number on the old system was 1146
and your Practice ID Number on the old system was 7768, your User Name on
the new system is 1146_7768.
Your password will have remained the same as it was on the old system, except
that all passwords on the new system must be at least eight characters long.
If your password on the old system was shorter than eight characters in length you
will be asked to change it on the first occasion you log in to the new
system. If your password on the old system was three characters or less in length,
however, your account will
NOT have been transferred to the new system for
security reasons and you will now need to re-apply for a new Internet
Access account.
If you have registered to use Internet Access since the changeover and
have been issued with a User Name based on your name, then you are not
affected by the change.
Ordering
a Repeat Prescription on the Web:
In order to
request a repeat prescription online, you first need to be a
registered user of Internet Access (see below on this page). Please
note that you will only be able to use this system to request items
included on the repeats list on your previous prescription.
A list of
the common dosage instruction abbreviations used in the prescribing system is available here
if you are unsure and wish to check up on any of them. The document
is available as an Adobe PDF.
If you need the free Adobe PDF reader, please follow the relevant
link below to download it.
If
you suspect that we do not already have a note of the preferred collection
point (which Calne chemist or the surgery) for your drugs or prescription,
please make a note of your preference in the "Medication Request
Notes" field at the bottom of the repeat form when you are logged in.
If
you suspect that a particular drug should be able to be requested but it
does not have a tick box on the repeat form when you are logged in, you
will need to speak with a member of the clinical staff at the surgery on
01249 812141, option 2. Telephoning between 2pm and 3pm is best for
this as the lines are less busy at this time.
Internet
Access:
Northlands
Surgery offers Internet Access, a secure online system that is integrated with
our practice computer system.
Through
Internet Access you can book a routine doctor's appointment, cancel any
appointment or order a repeat prescription on-line.
To
use the online facilities, you simply have to log into the Internet Access
website which is accessible from the link below. The
service is free to our registered patients over 16 years of age and is
available day and night, 365 days a year.
If
you wish to use Internet Access you must first read the Internet Access
Information Sheet, then apply for an Internet Access Account using the
Application Form. The Information Sheet and Application Form are
available from reception or via the link below.
The
information sheet and application form are available here as an Adobe PDF.
If you need the free Adobe PDF reader, please follow the relevant
link below to download it.
Return
your completed application form to reception or post it to the
surgery. We will then set up your Internet Access account and create a
letter containing your account details. For
security reasons you must collect this letter from the practice in
person. Please allow at
least five working days for us to set
up your account before coming to collect your letter, and bring some photo
identification which includes proof of your date of birth and address with you as we will need it to verify your
identity.
For
security reasons we cannot give out account details by phone, post or e-mail.
